Powder Escaping During Filling Process

Powder is charged with static electricity by the friction inside the pipe during transfer.
Bags are also charged by separation when they are unfolded.
The charged powder and bags attract or repel each other. Sometimes the powder flies out of the bag which increases the disposal loss of the material, or the powder adheres to the mouth of the bag which prevents sealing.

Conventional countermeasures

Weight check with a sensor

  • Since problems are found after they occur, it is impossible to prevent defective products from being produced.
  • Installing sensors on existing lines is difficult.
  • Additional labour for monitoring and cleaning the equipment is required.

Countermeasures with static eliminators (ionizers)

An ionizer can prevent the production of defective products and reduce disposal cost.
The labour for cleaning can also be reduced.

Improvements and Effects
Words from the worksite

Reduced disposal cost of defective products

Defective rate of 0.5% x unit price of 2€ x 2,000 pieces/month x 12 months = 24,000€/year

In addition, there are other invisible effects of reduced labour for cleaning and improved reliability.
