Parts Stuck in Feeder Bowl
Resin parts are charged with static electricity by repeated friction and separation caused by the vibration of the feeder bowl.
The charged parts move more slowly and cannot be transferred properly due to the Coulomb force that makes the parts cling to the bowl or chute of the feeder bowl.
Conventional countermeasures
Handled by workers
- Labour costs are high.
- Workers cannot constantly address the problem, so the operating ratio decreases.
Countermeasures with static eliminators (ionizers)
The products do not clog the feeder bowl so the labour for addressing clogging can be reduced.
Improvements and Effects
Words from the worksite
Reduced labour cost for addressing clogging
Labour cost per worker: 20€/hour x Working time of 5 minutes x 5 lines x 8 hours x 250 days = 16,700€/year
The system can be made flexible to address increased/decreased numbers of lines.
